Environmental
R & T Electronic Recycling LLP regard the management of environmental issues as an integral part of our operations of recycling WEEE and producing and delivering the derived products. This will entail the training and involvement of all employees to meet the company's commitments to care of the environment.
The Company's documented system based on ISO 14001, Waste Permit and current Legislation describes the organisation, responsibilities and activities employed by The Company to control our service and products and their environmental impacts.
The Company will recycle in a planned and efficient manner in order to meet our supplier, customer and legislative requirements in terms of control, performance, availability, transportation and price.
The Company will meet and where possible exceed the requirements of UK legislation and standards with respect to product and service environmental requirements.
The Company will work to prevent pollution and use natural resources in a responsible way, seeking to reduce their consumption, recycling where we cannot reuse, thereby minimising our output of waste and emissions.
The Company will analyse the environmental impacts of all new and current processes prior to introduction.
Environmental performance will be measured by the Management Team who will seek continuous improvement of their defined targets.
Health & Safety
R & T Electronic Recycling LLP acknowledges and accepts its legal responsibilities for securing the health, safety and welfare of all its employees, and of sub-contractors working on its behalf, and all others affected by their activities.
It is the intent of the company to provide safe and healthy working conditions for all our employees by:
> providing and maintaining safe plant and equipment
> providing safe systems of work
> providing a safe place of work and safe access and egress
> providing for the safe use, handling, storage, and transport of all particles and substances
> providing a safe working environment providing adequate and sufficient information, instruction, training, and supervision
It is also the intent of this Company to enlist the support of all employees towards achieving the safest possible working conditions and to encourage consultation on all health and safety matters. Support, co-operation, and consultation will also be sought from clients, other contractors, and any other persons who might reasonably be expected to be included in such discussions. To this end, regular health and safety discussions will be held.
The Company accepts its responsibility for the health and safety of other people who may be affected by our activities, including client's employees, other contractors, and members of the public. The Company also accepts responsibility for any effects our activities may have on the environment.
The allocation of duties for safety matters, and the particular arrangements which will be made to implement this policy are set out in this document.
This Policy will be kept up to date particularly as regards any changes in activities or the nature or size of the business, and will be reviewed annually.
Modern Slavery
R & T Electronic Recycling LLP provides a WEEE recovery and processing service to UK telecommunication companies. The Company is managed by the four managing partners and employs 15 people in the UK and no people outside the UK.
The Partners at The Company are committed to understanding the issues relating to Modern Slavery in relation to their business.
All employees of The Company will be paid above the UK minimum wage and their payment will be directly into their bank account with no company deductions.
Products purchased by The Company are minimal; mainly tools, and are sourced from UK outlets.
Base metals recovered by The Company are sent to UK recyclers only. Precious metals are sent to Belgium for recovery.
Before December 2016 all companies, whether supplier or customer, where The Company spends or receives in excess of £50,000, will be asked to provide a Modern Slavery Statement. This level will be reviewed annually.
