R&T Electronic Recycling LLP was formerly named R&T Engineering. The change of name was felt to more adequately express the company's role in today's demanding recycling industry.
In 2000, as R&T Engineering, the company secured a four-year rolling contract with British Telecom (BT) to recover redundant telephone equipment and recycle it in compliance with current legislation. The Directors previously had ten years experience in exchange recovery undertaking work with the then BT main contractor. In all, the company has been involved in electronic recycling for eighteen years.
In 2006 BT recognised the professionalism and high quality of work, and the company was asked to take on the Principal Contractor role.
The recovery of commodities from recycled equipment has been refined over the years, resulting in excellent returns to the customer from metals and precious metals.
R&T are deeply aware of their responsibilities to the environment, and they employ a consultant to ensure that their own workshops and all of the companies recycling material on their behalf have the relevant management and waste transfer licences and knowledge.
Although being Principal Contractor for BT, R&T have the experience and facilities to help other companies benefit from their electronics waste equipment.
